Even though OnePlus CEO Pete Lau is skeptical of the wireless charging technology, OnePlus has been listed as the member on Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) which likely hints that upcoming OnePlus 8 series could come with the wireless charging.

WPC controls the Qi (pronounced “chee”) wireless charging standard which is used in smartphones, wearables, laptops, tablets, drones, robots, and many more applications.
The listing corroborates with an earlier report by a tipster ‘Max J.’ who posted an image of a smartphone placed on a wireless charger with the tag ‘charge like a pro’.
OnePlus 8 Pro is set to launch in May this year alongside the other two variants OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Lite.
Company has already confirmed to join the 120Hz bandwagon with the upcoming OnePlus 8 Pro having the screen with 120Hz refresh rate.
Also, OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro would be 5G-ready phones with Snapdragon 865 SoC which has a built-in 5G modem.
OnePlus, known for its high-quality cameras, will have main camera with a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor and the front camera, which is likely to be a pop-up camera, will have a 32-megapixel camera.
