Motorola is back with a new flip smartphone, Razr 5G. The new edition is the successor of last year’s Razr handset and has updated specifications like the processor for 5G, improved hinge design, cameras and battery. Just like its earlier edition, the new Razr phone comes with a high price tag just because of its retro flip style. Here’s everything about it;
Motorola Razr 5G Specifications
The new flip phone comes with a 6.2″ plastic OLED display with 2142 × 876p resolution when opened. And when closed, the secondary screen serves with a 2.7″ OLED display with 600 × 800p resolution. The interior (primary) display has a notch to house the front camera, and Motorola has improved the hinge design to have zero gaps when folded.
With 200,000 flips assured by the maker, it has a 4:3 aspect ratio for secondary screen and a 21:9 aspect ratio for the primary screen. Running on Android 10 based My UX bloatware, it has Snapdragon’s 765G chip within that comes with Adreno 620 GPU and 5G support. It has a fixed 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage, and has supported two SIMs (Nano + eSIM) and has no slots for expanding storage nor an audio jack.

Regarding cameras, it has a single rear camera set on top of the secondary display panel, which is of 48-megapixel with f/1.7 aperture. It supports OIS has laser autofocus and a Quad Pixel technology for better low-light sensitivity. This can be used as a front camera too if the phone’s used as flipped. If not, there’s a front camera set in the notch of the interior display as 20-megapixel with f/2.2 aperture.
It has Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, GPS, NFC, 4G and 5G as connectivities. At last, it’s powered by a 2800mAh battery with 15W fast charging support, which the maker claims last for a day on a single charge. Besides bringing the retro feel of using a flip phone, the secondary screen can be helpful for checking quick notifications, navigation etc.
Motorola Razr 5G Price and Availability
With Polished Graphite, Blush Gold and Liquid Mercury as color variants, the sole storage variant of 8GB + 256GB Moto Razr 5G is priced at $1,399.99. It’s scheduled to launch initially in China and few selected European markets, and others may get this by this year’s fall.
