The all-new Huawei Mate X is here in the market. Though the device is a new entry by Huawei in Fold culture, the specs are pretty impressive. The phone was announced way back in February. The device is all beast with its specs and has the trendy 5G compatibility.
The design is the main highlight of the all-new Mate X. Aluminium frame and Aluminium back is to make the device frame and back panel. However, in contrast to other folds in the market, the front plastic panel doesn’t give premium feedback.
The company claims the design to be tough. To clarify, they named the design Falcon Wing design, which involves some complex folding mechanisms. In addition to it, the company assures very less bulge on the hinges. It comes with only one color namely Interstellar Blue.
The Mate X has an 8.0 inches OLED display, with about 16M colors. The display is a foldable display unit as such. The folded display is a 6.6inch AMOLED display unit. The resolution of the Mate X is 2200 x 2480 pixels which are very impressive for the fold like this. The device is also having Huawei FullView edge-to-edge display, in short, it has ~87% screen to body ratio
Performance and Memory:
The new Mate X uses HiSilicon Kirin 980 which is an Octa-core processor based on 7nm technology. The configuration of the processor goes as 2cores-2.6 GHz Cortex-A76; 2cores-1.92 GHz Cortex-A76 & 4cores-1.8 GHz Cortex-A55. Certainly, there is no compromise noticed in SoC as such. Also, the device uses Mali-G76 MP10 GPU.
There is no option available in terms of choosing memory. The only option available is 512GB internal storage and a decent 8GB RAM. The internal storage uses UFS 2.1. Moreover, the storage could have been better by the usage of UFS 3.0 at least.

The camera unit is also a bit new in contrast. The device uses a triple camera setup. The setup goes as 40-megapixel, f/1.8 wide-angle lens, one 8-megapixel, f/2.4 telephoto lens and thirdly 16-megapixel, f/2.2 ultrawide snapper. it also uses dual-tone LED-flashes for better pictures.
The front camera is not there. the users have to rely on the rear setup for the pictures. The device uses rear cameras for front camera features. The results are very promising and impressive. The video goes up to 2160p@30fps and 1080p@30fps.

The device is very amazing. There are some pros and cons for the device as of now. The pros are some of the features like using very fast HiSilicon Kirin 980, the new design of the fold, a front camera that uses the rear camera unit. Secondly, the fast charger is very good considering this fold’s battery capacity. Thirdly, the usage of the side-mounted fingerprint reader is a very good choice for the device. It also has all the necessary basic sensors.
The cons for the device goes like having just one color option. Secondly, the brand could have used a variety of internal storage options instead of a single 8GB/512GB variant. Further, it is IP53 rated, which is fair enough considering the sophistication of the device.
