To be launched on September 22
After several leaks about its design and features, Vivo has finally confirmed the launch of its first-ever smartwatch soon. The date is set for September 22nd and tipped to be priced around ¥1,000 (~$147). Few leaks suggest the features continue heart rate monitoring, round dial with two buttons, and come with leather and silicon strip.
Vivo set to launch a smartwatch this month
Vivo has been late to the smartwatch party, as its sister companies like Xiaomi and Oppo have already launched few. While OnePlus is reported to come up with one soon, Vivo has one already and is set to launch it later this month. This was confirmed by Vivo itself through a post in Weibo, a popular Chinese social media platform.
Vivo’s poster includes a tip of upcoming watch’s design, with a date scheduled to September 22nd, 7.30 PM CST Asia. This translates to 5 PM for Indian standard time. Leaks from earlier sources reveal the upcoming smartwatch from Vivo to have a round dial with two physical buttons at one side.
Moreover, it’s touted to be running for 18 days on a single charge, and have Vivo’s proprietary Jovi voice assistant for accessing features quickly, health features like continuous monitoring of heart rate, calories detection and blood oxygen detection. With 5ATM rated water resistance, it may have NFC support for wireless payments and independent music playback for entertainment.

Finally, it’s tipped to come in three colors like Black, Orange and Brown, and be sold in either leather of silicon stripes. It’s tipped to have a silver bezel around the dial and come in two sizes of 42mm and 46mm with the stainless body.
Since the poster is released on Weibo for now, the September launch is expected only for the Chinese market initially and may go global soon.
