Even after hitting the ground very badly in the smartphone segment, Sony isn’t giving up already. The company is still hoping to regain its share through a series of Xperia phones, which it announced after the cancellation of this year’s MCW. The Japanese company has announced Xperia 1 II and Xperia 10 II in an online launch, conducted right after the cancellation of this year’s MWC event.
And now, the company has announced the official pricing and availability of the Sony Xperia 10 II handset. The Sony’s mid-ranger, Xperia 10 II is priced at €369/£319 ($399) for a single variant of 4GB + 128GB in Europe and is now available to pre-order from local retailers. This handset will be available in two color variants of White and Black.
Sony Xperia 10 II Specifications
Taking about the specifications, the all-new Sony Xperia 10 II sports a 6-inches FHD+ OLED display with 1080×2520p resolution and 21:9 aspect ratio. Even in 2020, Sony still continues to craft their mobiles without notch or bezel-less, as this handset has a thick chin and a top bezel to house speaker, camera, and other sensors. Being a mid-ranger, there’s no in-display fingerprint sensor set in, but it’s wondering that Sony made it a water-resistant phone.
Coming to the software, it runs on Android 10 OS with no bloatware. And it’s equipped with Snapdragon’s 665 SoC, which is an octa-core CPU running on 11nm processor, with a pair of 4-cores each clicking at 1.8GHz and 2GHz. This CPU will be adjoined with Adreno’s 610 GPU. This package is not that bad for gaming though.
Further, it has a single memory variant of 4GB RAM and a 128GB ROM, with a MicroSD slot (uses secondary SIM slot) for expanding storage. With respect to the camera department, Xperia 10 II has a triple rear camera setup of a 12-megapixel, followed by two 8-megapixel lenses. While the former one is a primary PDAF sensor, the latter two lenses serve as wide-angle shots and telephoto shots, with an optical zoom of 2x range. Upfront, there’s a single 8-megapixel lens.
Apart from having all the required connectivities like GPS, Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 Type-C, it supports NFC and has a 3.5mm audio jack. Finally, there’s a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and 3600 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support delivered through Quick Charge 3.0 tech.
