Poco M2

After having a grand entrance with Poco F1, the Xiaomi’s spin-off has launched several hits like Poco C2 Pro, Poco M2 Pro and Poco X2. And now, there’s yet another phone named as Poco M2, which is slightly stripped variant of Poco M2 Pro and more similar to Redmi 9 Prime. Here’s everything about it;

Poco M2 Specifications

The all-new Poco M2 has a 6.53″ FHD+ (1080 × 2340) display with a dewdrop notch design. Protected with Gorilla Glass 3, it has a P2i coating for splash resistance and 400 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood, it has MediaTek’s Helio G80 SoC, which is an octa-core processor clocking at 2.0GHz at max speed and comes with Mali-G52 MC2 GPU.

Running on MIUI 12 with Android 10 as a base, it has two variants as either 64GB or 128GB of eMMC 5.1 onboard storage, and 6GB RAM as common. With a dedicated slot for additional storage, it has an 8-megapixel (f/2.0) lens as a front camera in the notch. It follows a new “anti-fingerprint texture” at the rear, that still functions as the fingerprint scanner but invisible.

As rear camera modules, it has a quad setup as 13-megapixel (f/2.2) as the primary sensor, followed by an 8-megapixel (f/2.2) lens as an ultra-wide angular lens, a 5-megapixel (f/2.4) lens as a macro lens and a 2-megapixel (f/2.4) lens as a depth sensor. These can record an FHD video at 30fps just as the front camera.

Having all the required connectivities as Bluetooth 5, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS, VoLTE, Infrared port and a USB 2.0 Type-C port, it comes with a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. This is the only slight change when compared to Redmi 9 Prime, as it features a 5020mAh battery.

Pricing and Availability

Coming in Slate Blue, Pitch Black, and Brick Red color variants, the 6GB + 64GB handset is priced at Rs.10,999 and the 6GB + 128GB is priced at Rs.12,499. Both the variants are set to go sale starting September 15 via Flipkart.
