After OnePlus, Lenovo owned Motorola has been planning to launch its new flagship phone for 2020. The company has been planning to come back into the markets for a long time. On April 22, Motorola took the giant step forward to foray into the premium phone market and launched the two premium devices – Motorola Edge and Motorola Edge Plus.
Motorola had recently launched Moto G and Moto One smartphones which outpaced its peers with its performance and quality in its lower price band.
Here is everything we know about Motorola Edge+ smartphone.
Quick Navigation
Motorola Edge+ – Specification and Features
As we mentioned above, Motorola Edge+ has been launched as the new complete flagship phone from Motorola. Also, it seems the phone will compete head-to-head with the OnePlus 8 series.
Display
Motorola Edge+ features a bigger 6.7 inches FHD+ OLED Curved Punch-Hole Display and by looking at the aspect ratio of 21:9, it seems Motorola has gone with a taller screen this time for comfort grip. The Display, with 90Hz refresh rate, seems below the current market standard.
Power
So, as we said, Motorola Edge+ is the complete flagship phone from Motorola which means the internal hardware in Motorola Edge+ will be of flagship-level and it is true as well, as the phone is said to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 865 chipset which will be coupled with massive 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and Internal storage of 256GB with the support of UFS 3.0 technology.
Camera
On the back, Motorola Edge+ has a triple camera setup where the biggest 108-megapixel sensor is the main sensor which is also found on some expensive flagships like Samsung S20 Ultra.
Beneath the 108-megapixel sensor, is a 8-megapixel telephoto lens with the support of 3X optical zoom, below it is the 16-megapixel Ultra-wide sensor with 117 degrees of a wide field of view, at last, we get to see a TOF (Time of Flight) sensor as well.
Also, Motorola claims that their ultra-wide sensor is also capable to take macro shots as well. So, in terms of the camera department, we will get an all-rounder performer from Motorola.
On the front, there is a 25-megapixel shooter which is housed as a punch hole on the corner of the display.
Battery
Considering the fast refresh rate and 5G support, surely, this will suck up battery. So, to maintain a better battery life Motorola Edge+ comes with a massive 5000 mAh battery.
Sadly, Motorola Edge+ will be supporting fairly fast 18W charging but out of the box, you will get a 15W charger only. Also, Motorola Edge+ comes with wireless charging support as well.
Colors
Motorola Edge+ comes in two colorways, namely – Thunder Grey and Smokey Sangria.

Extra Features
So, one of the biggest features that most of us were missing in several high-end devices, has been provided in Moto Edge+. Yes, you guessed it right, the Headphone Jack. Motorola Edge+ will do have a Headphone Jack.
Also, other features like the in-display fingerprint sensor and moto centric motion feature are available in the Moto Edge+.
Motorola Edge+ Price
Bravo to Motorola for the excellent job they have been doing in the smartphone industry with the introduction of new features and technology. But, in terms of pricing, Motorola seems unfavorable.
As the Motorola Edge+ costs $999, the same price as the Samsung Galaxy S20, the same size screen as the Galaxy S20 Plus, and the same 5,000-mAh battery and 108-megapixel camera as the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
The phone also competes against OnePlus 8 lineups as the prices hovers near to the price of OnePlus 8 or OnePlus 8 Pro as well.
Motorola has also launched a lower variant with the moniker Motorola Edge, which is a step-down version of Moto Edge+ or you can also say the younger brother of Motorola Edge+.
