HTC’s first 5G smartphone U20 5G launched alongside Desire 20 Pro

HTC is one of those brands that has lost market because of tough competition from Chinese OEMs. While Motorola and Nokia were on the same line till yesterday, they’re finally back on race with new launches.

And now, HTC is craving for the same. It has now launched U20 5G and Desire 20 Pro phones, sharing most of the specifications. Let’s see what they are and everything else.

HTC U20 5G Specifications

This handset has a 6.80-inches display with 1080×2400 resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio with a punch-hole design. With the support of 5G connectivity, it runs on Snapdragon’s 765G and Adreno 620 GPU.

With 32-megapixel (f/2.0) as front camera, it has a quad rear setup of 48-megapixel (f/1.8) as a primary sensor, an 8-megapixel (f/2.2) ultra-wide angular, a 2-megapixel (f/2.4) as a macro lens and a 2-megapixel (f/2.4) as a depth sensor.

HTC U20 has 8GB of RAM with 256GB of onboard storage, and has all the required connectivities like GPS, NFC, USB 2.0 Type-C, Bluetooth 5, WiFi but no audio jack.

Finally, it comes with a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging via Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0. Besides rear cameras, both the HTC U20 and Desire 20 Pro share the same stock Android 10 OS and batteries too.

HTC Desire 20 Pro Specifications

HTC Desire 20 Pro has a 6.5-inches FHD+ display with 1080×2340 resolution and same punch-hole design as its counterpart. It runs on Snapdragon’s 665 CPU with Adreno 610 GPU. It comes with 6GB RAM and a 128GB ROM and has 25-megapixel (f/2.0) front camera.

It also has a 5000mAh battery but with 15W fast charging. There’s a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor on both phones too.

Pricing and Availability


HTC is yet to reveal the price and launch dates for these handsets. But as of now, it’s listed on the Taiwanese website of HTC, thus expected to launch there first. But HTC’s tweet assured that it’s not limited to Taiwan at least.

Regarding colors, the HTC Desire 20 Pro will be available in Smokey Black and Pretty Blue variants, and the U20 5G will come in Silver and Green shades.
