Weeks before the rumored date, Samsung has launched the Galaxy M02 handset today in India. This new budget smartphone succeeds Galaxy M01 launched last year and has competitive specifications to make it a worthy stand against Realme C15, Redmi 9, Poco C3, and the latest Micromax’s In 1b. Samsung Galaxy M02 Specifications
Samsung’s new Galaxy M02 sports a 6.5″ HD+ display with 720 × 1600p resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Running on One UI 2.0 bloatware over Android 10, it has a quad-core MediaTek MT6739W chip coupled with PowerVR GE8100 GPU. It has two RAM variants of either 2GB or 3GB and onboard storage of 32GB.
With a dedicated microSD slot for expanding storage, it has a dual-rear camera setup led by 13-megapixel (f/1.9) primary sensor and a 2-megapixel (f/2.4) macro lens. Upfront, there’s a single 5-megapixel (f/2.0) lens for selfies.
With all the required connectivities like Bluetooth 5, WiFi, audio jack, GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0, it has a 5000mAh battery with 10W fast charging support. This makes it a worthy competitor against the raging brands of Poco, Realme, and Redmi, where all of them are having similarly specced smartphones in this segment.
Samsung Galaxy M02 Pricing and Availability
The Galaxy M02 comes in four color variants of Red, Blue, Gray, and Black, bearing a price tag of $96 (Rs.6,999) for the sole 2GB + 32GB variant. While there’s a 3GB + 32GB variant, it isn’t listed for sale yet, and have no price tag. And as an introductory offer, it will be sold at $93 (Rs.6,799). It will be sold through Amazon, Samsung India store, and its offline channels from February 9th onwards.
