OnePlus Nord

After numerous leaks and tips, OnePlus has finally unwrapped its first-ever mid-ranger – OnePlus Nord. This sub-$500 handset shares most of the features from OnePlus 8, but placed far below than it. Alongside, the company has also revealed its first-ever true wireless earbuds – OnePlus Buds.

OnePlus Nord Specifications

OnePlus Nord

Starting with the display, it posses a 6.44″ OLED display with 20:9 aspect ratio, 1080p resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. This is same as OnePlus 8, except it has got a slightly larger display with HDR 10+ support. It runs on OnePlus bloatware, OxygenOS 10.5 with Android 10 as the base. Moving into internals, it’s powered by the Snapdragon’s 765G SoC, which is an octa-core processor with Adreno 620 GPU.

And usage of this chipset is a good thing over OnePlus 8 since it has the 5G modem (sub-6GHz only) integrated and doesn’t need to take charge separately from the battery, thus saving it much. Moreover, it’s where OnePlus can compromise much to bring down the cost. It’s got two storage variants like either 8GB/128GB or 12GB/256GB. There’s yet another variant as 6GB/64GB for the Indian market.

Talking about cameras, OnePlus Nord have a quad-rear setup as 48-megapixel (f/1.8) as the primary sensor, followed by an 8-megapixel (f/2.3) as an ultra-wide lens, a 2-megapixel (f/2.4) macro lens and a 5-megapixel (f/2.4) depth sensor.

OnePlus 8, on the other hand, lacks the depth sensor, but it suffices this with a double the resolution of the ultra-wide lens. Upfront, there’s a dual setup of 32-megapixel (f/2.5) wide land and an 8-megapixel (f/2.5) ultra-wide lens.

It’s got an in-display fingerprint sensor and a decent 4115 mAh battery with OnePlus Warp Charge 30T support, which can juice up the battery from 0-70% in 30 minutes. Finally, it has all the essential connectivities like VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.1, aptX HD audio, Wi-Fi, NFC and sub-6GHz 5G. But it ditches the audio jack here, probably to push its next gadget – OnePlus Buds.

OnePlus has also unveiled it’s first-ever true wireless earbuds, OnePlus Buds along Nord. These are simple and are priced at Rs.4,990 ($79).
