LG has just announced two new phones – LG K42 and LG K71 without their availability and price tags. While these are assumed to be calling in budget and mid-range segments, we’re waiting for LG to announce their official price tags to see whether they’re overpriced as earlier LG smartphones. As of now, here are the specifications of both the phones;

LG K42 Specifications


The LG K42 has a 6.6″ HD+ display with a pinhole display. It runs with MediaTek’s Helio P22 CPU with PowerVR GE8320 GPU. With 8-megapixel as front camera, it has quad-rear cameras as 13-megapixel as the primary sensor, followed by a 5-megapixel (f/2.2) lens as an ultra-wide lens with 120° coverage and a pair of 2-megapixel (f/2.4) lens for macro and depth shots.

LG K42

With a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a dedicated Google Assistant button, this device is MIL-STD-810G compliant, meaning it’s suitable for usage in a rugged environment. Finally, it has Bluetooth 5, GPS, LTE, audio jack, USB 2.0 Type-C port, and is powered by a 4000mAh battery.

LG K71 Specifications

The LG K71 on the other hand comes with a 6.8″ FHD+ display and MediaTek’s Helio P35 SoC. It runs at a maximum clocking speed at 2.3GHz and has the same GPU as LG K42. Also, both the devices run on Android 10 OS and the same battery capacity. The display will be supporting a stylus and the rear panel is designed to mimic the Samsung’s Galaxy S10.

LG K71

With a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, it comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. In cameras section, it has a triple rear setup as 48-megapixel primary sensor, followed by a 5-megapixel as an ultra-wide lens with the same 120° coverage and another 5-megapixel lens as a depth sensor. Upfront, there’s a 32-megapixel lens in the water-drop styled notch.

Pricing and Availability

Price and availability for both LG K42 and K71 has not been revealed yet by LG. While LG K42 comes in Grey and Green color options, the K71 is available in White and Grey colors.
