Pocophone F1

The year 2019 was filled with expectations that Poco F2 would launch anytime in the same year, but we did not get any solid hint about the launch till the end of the year 2019. Now, an image posted by well-known leaker the_tech_guy has revealed the Patent application for the brand name POCO F2.

It affirms that Xiaomi is working on the Poco series and it could launch the successor of Poco F1 anytime soon. Outside India, the phone will be called Pocophone F2

Xiaomi had announced Poco F1 on August 22, 2018 in India as a sub-brand. It was the cheapest and the most competitive phone offering the Snapdragon 845 processor at a starting price of ~$300. Xiaomi tasted huge success with Poco F1.

A tweet by Manu Jain, VP of Xiaomi and MD of Xiaomi India, shows that until November, almost 3 months since launch, Xiaomi sold whopping 700,000 Poco devices worldwide. The numbers says it all.

It is speculated that the Poco F2 will be powered by Snapdragon 855 SoC and will feature a triple camera setup.

When Xiaomi launched Redmi K20, it was arguably accepted as the successor of Pocophone F1 as the cloud was unclear whether Xiaomi would launch the next version of Pocophone or not.


Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro is also in pipeline and could be launched in the first half of 2020 worldwide. It is worth noting that Redmi K30 Pro will feature Snapdragon 765G processor, a downgrade from existing Snapdragon 855 SoC that powers Redmi K20 Pro. Although, cheaper version Redmi K20 runs on Snapdragon 730 SoC.
