Oppo’s spin-off, Realme is accelerating with new smartphone launches now and then. Lately, the Chinese OEM has announced a new, and probably the world’s cheapest 5G handset – Realme V5. This one comes with a huge battery, fine display and an okay processor. Here’s all you need to know;
Realme V5 Specifications
It comes with a 6.5″ LCD with 20:9 aspect ratio and 1080 × 2400p resolution. It’s no notches, but have a punch-hole design to equip the front camera. It supports the 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, and is protected by Gorilla Glass. It runs on Realme’s native UI 1.0 based on Android 10.
Under the hood, it’s got the MediaTek’s Dimensity 720 chip, which is an octa-core processor clocking at 2GHz. It runs on a 7nm process with Mali-G57 MC3 GPU embedded. It comes with two RAM variants as either 6GB or 8GB, coupled with 128GB of UFS 2.1 onboard storage. Well, users can use the shared SIM slot to expand the storage if wanted.
Regarding cameras, Realme V5 has a quad rear setup as 48-megapixel (f/1.8) as the primary sensor, an 8-megapixel (f/2.3) ultra-wide lens with 119° coverage, a 2-megapixel (f/2.4) as a macro lens and a 2-megapixel (f/2.4) depth sensor. Upfront there’s a 16-megapixel (f/2.1) lens as the selfie camera. The rear setup is capable of recording 4K videos as 30fps.
Regarding connectivities, this handset supports sub-6GHz 5G, USB 2.0 Type-C, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 5 and a fingerprint sensor set to the power button. And with 5000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support, the VOOC tech can pump the full battery with juice within 65 minutes.
Realme V5 Price and Availability
Realme V5 comes in three color variants as Silver, Green, and Blue. It’s priced at ¥1,499 (~$215) for the 6GB + 128GB variant and ¥1,899 (~$272) for the 8GB + 256GB variant. It’s already taking up pre-orders in China via its website, with first sales commencing from August 7th onwards.
