Delete these 36 Malicious Android Apps Right Now

A fresh batch of malicious Android apps including adware and malware was discovered on the Google Play Store. These apps have been installed on mobile devices close to 10 million times. The apps were revealed to be part of a new batch of malicious Android apps.

According to information provided by BleepingComputer (Opens in a new window), the malicious applications were uncovered by the Russian anti-malware business Doctor Web (Opens in a new window). Photo editing, virtual keyboards, system optimization, wallpaper changers, user interface skins, and a notes and lists app are some of the functions that are described as being available through the apps. In every instance, the apps have a secondary goal of hijacking the user’s social media accounts, displaying obtrusive advertisements to the user or signing the user up for premium services.

These 36 dangerous apps pose as image-editing tools, virtual keyboards, system optimizers, wallpaper changers, and several other useful products in order to fool unsuspecting users into downloading them. Their goal is to get users to install them on their devices.

As can be seen in the instance of two of these apps, “Water Reminder- Tracker & Reminder” and “Yoga- For Beginner to Advanced.” some of these apps also offer the functionality that is stated. In addition to this, they secretly open a variety of websites in WebView and then pretend to be users in order to click on advertisements and banners.

Adware programs are designed to keep operating in the background even after the user has terminated their use of the program, which can quickly deplete the battery life of a mobile device. This is in addition to the fact that they are incredibly bothersome.

The ones that Dr. Web found are essentially modified versions of pre-existing adware families that initially appeared on the Play Store in May of this year.

Here is a list of all the malicious apps that you need to delete right away.
