Xiaomi sold over 350,000 units of Mi 11 in just five minutes


Xiaomi has started this new year with a bang, as it has sold over 350,000 units of its Mi 11 in China, under just five minutes. This garnered the maker more than ¥1.5 billion, as per the number of units sold. The Mi 11 is the first-ever handset equipping the Snapdragon 888 SoC and was unveiled earlier this week.

Mi 11 – A resounding success

Xiaomi has been a popular brand wherever it entered. The Chinese OEM is even stronger in its home country and been into various technological product lines. It has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone – Mi 11 earlier this week, which is the last of 2020.

Since it started sales yesterday, Xiaomi has sold over 350,000 units of Mi 11 handsets in China, just under five minutes. This shows how well the Chinese fans of Xiaomi are leaning over it, as they’ve poured more than ¥1.5 billion into Xiaomi’s account.

Considering this success, Xiaomi may introduce a Pro variant of this handset, as we heard from leaks. The standard Mi 11 has a 6.81″ AMOLED display with HDR10+ and 120Hz refresh rate. Running on the latest Android 11 based MIUI 12.5, it comes with the Qualcomm’s high-end chipset – Snapdragon 888, which supports dual-band 5G and has Adreno 660 GPU.

With upto 12GB of RAM, it has triple-rear cameras led by a 108-megapixel (f/1.9) Sony IMX sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 5-megapixel macro lens. With a 20-megapixel front lens, it has a 4600mAh battery with 55W fast wired charging and a 50W wireless charging support.

It’s priced at $769 and available in various colors for the Chinese market initial and may arrive at other international markets soon.
