Xiaomi has announced a new smart TV series for its Indian market today. Named as Mi TV 4A Horizon Edition, there are two variants under this series – one at 32″ and the other at 43″ display size. These two TVs are boasts with bezel-less display, runs on Android 9 with Xiaomi’s PatchWall and 1GB + 8GB as common features. Let’s learn more about them;
Mi TV 4A Horizon Edition Launched in India
Xiaomi has been too aggressive in terms of price to specifications ratio since its inception. While this strategy helped it to become a market leader in the smartphone business in India, it’s now eyeing on the smart TV segment too.
Today, it has unveiled two new smart TVs under a new product line called Mi TV 4A Horizon Edition. Under this, the two TVs are varied by just display sizes – one at 32″ and the other at 43″.
The 32″ Mi TV 4A Horizon Edition comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage and runs on Android 9.0 platform. Regarding the UI, it has two options of Xiaomi’s native PatchWall bloatware or the regular Android TV skin. It’s powered by a quad-core processor, Mali-450 GPU and Xiaomi’s Vivid picture engine. With an HD Ready (1368 × 768) display resolution, it has 20W output speakers with DTS-HD surround sound.
On the other hand, the 43″ Mi TV 4A Horizon Edition comes with a similar bezel-less display design but bumps the resolution to Full HD to 1920 × 1080p. While it still has the same storage, RAM, UI skins and processor, it comes with S/PDIF interface as an additional option than 32″ variant.
Besides the same output speakers, it has connectivities like Bluetooth 4.2, two USB ports, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, three HDMI ports, an Ethernet port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Both the TVs comes with 95% screen-to-body ratio display and has Mi Quick Wake feature to wake up their smart TVs in under 0.5 seconds.
Pricing and Availability
The 32″ Mi TV 4A Horizon Edition is priced at Rs.13,500 with sales commencing from September 11th onwards. Whereas the 43″ variant is priced at Rs.22,999 and go on sale from September 15 onwards. While both these will be available through Mi Store, Mi Home Store, Mi offline stores, and partner retailers, the 32″ variant will also be available from Flipkart and the 43″ variant via Amazon additionally.
