As Vivo thinks being enough competent in mid and budget ranges, the Chinese OEM is gradually venturing out to flagship space. The new launch of X50 series is the first flagship phones from Vivo this year, and they seem good on paper. All three, Vivo X50, X50 Pro, and X50 Pro+ support 5G and have reasonable features to face current flagships like Motorola Edge+, OnePlus 8, and others.
All these phones share a lot in common, like display, front cameras, OS etc. And differ by chipset, battery and cameras, which reflects on their prices.
So here’s the detailed spec sheet of Vivo X50, X50 Pro and X50 Pro+ and what they have got.
Vivo X50
Starting with Vivo X50, this standard variant has a 6.56-inches AMOLED display with 1080×2376p resolution and supports HDR 10+. Further, it’s got a 90Hz screen refresh rate and a punch-hole design. Running on Funtouch OS 10.5 based on Android 10, it features Snapdragon’s 765G with Andreno 620 GPU. Glad that it is fitted with X50 modem
for 5G support.Coming to cameras, the entire X50 series is wonderful in this aspect. The Vivo X50 has quad rear cameras like 48-megapixel (f/1.6) as the primary sensor, followed by a 13-megapixel (f/2.5) portrait camera, an 8-megapixel (f/2.2) wide angular lens and a 5-megapixel (f/2.5) macro lens.
These are capable of 20x digital zoom, EIS and a four-axis OIS. Upfront, there’s single 32-megapixel (f/2.48) lens stuffed into punch-hole. It’s got the portrait, panorama, portrait, super night view, AR cute shot, beauty makeup, filter etc.
Finally, it’s powered by a 4200 mAh battery with 33W fast charging and has all required connectivities like USB Type-C, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NSA 5G, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. This handset is available in Shallow, Black Mirror and Liquid Oxygen colors, and is already up for pre-sales.

Vivo X50 Pro
The Pro is more like its counterpart X50 but differs in few camera capabilities and battery. Apart from having the same display, OS, chipset, storage and front camera, it varies by having a 4315mAh battery with 33W fast charging and has the curved-edge display style.
The rear cameras are more or like the same, but has gimbal stabilization support. This is just a gimbal-like object on screen to let the user check the stabilization and make better videos that consider rotation angle and anti-shake areas. This feature is more helpful than regular OIS, thus Pro.
Apart from these, it has the same connectivities and an in-display fingerprint sensor just like in regular X50 handset. The handset comes in Black Mirror and Liquid Oxygen color options.
Vivo X50 Pro Price
This Pro variant is priced as CNY 4,298 (~$608) for the 8GB + 128GB variant and CNY 4,698 (~$665) for its 8GB + 256GB variant.

Vivo X50 Pro+
This Pro+ variant covers all of what the X50 and X50 Pro counterparts carry, but with some premium build. It has the same 6.56-inches AMOLED display with same punch-hole design, HDR 10+ and a curved-edge design. But it also boasts with 120Hz refresh rate. This handset runs on Snapdragon’s latest 865 SoC CPU Andreno 650 GPU.
It packs a 50-megapixel (f/1.6) rear primary sensor, a 13-megapixel (f/2.5) sensor and a pair of 8-megapixel lens for telephoto (f/3.0) and (f/.2.2) for ultra-wide angles. This system has the same gimbal stabilization support and does excellent photography. Upfront, it’s the same 32-megapixel (f/2.5) lens. It’s got the same connectivities and a 4315mAh battery with 44W fast charging support.
This new series from Vivo is touted to be the slimmest 5G handsets ever. Moreover, the standard X50 variant is the thinnest of all, being just 7.49mm. Apart from having all the premium features, we expect this series to be less challenging against already settled premiums. But, we shall see what future unfolds for them.
