Realme Narzo 10 – Is it best budget gaming phone?

On 11th May 2020, Realme officially launched its new lineup of the Narzo series. The very first devices to join the Narzo family are Realme Narzo 10 and Realme Narzo 10A. The devices are awesome budget device with killer specs at the price segment.

Realme Narzo 10 Specifications

Design

The design of this device is an amazing design. The build material is polycarbonate, from frame to body. However, the front is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. There is also the availability of splash-resistant coating. the build quality can be considered fair enough.

The main high light of the device is its rear panel. The rear panel of the device is very fresh and grabs attention. The rear panel gives a new different reflecting stripes finish. The smaller details like mounting the power button is a little carving provide some premium feels. There are two colours available for the device, That White and That Green. Both colours are astounding.

Display

The display of the device is good enough. the device has a 6.5-inches mini-drop fullscreen panel. The display panel is an IPS LCD screen with 16M colors. The resolution of the device is HD+ (720 x 1600 pixels) @270 ppi.

The resolution could have been a little better like the FHD+ screen. The screen is anyhow very vivid and doesn’t give any issues. the aspect ratio of the device is 20:9 ratio with a good about ~89.9% screen to body ratio. The display has a protection of Gorilla Glass 3 which is good.

Processing and Memory

The device runs on the latest MediaTek Helio G80 which is based on 12nm technology. This octa-core processor is very effective in terms of performance. The clock speed is 2.0GHz, however, the configuration goes as 2 cores based on Cortex-A75 clocked @2.0 GHz & 6 Cortex-A55 cores clocked@1.8 GHz.

These two performance Cortex-A75 cores are quite capable of handling multitasks smoothly. The CPU is coupled with Mali-G52 MC2 GPU for some good graphics demands.

Memory – The device has only one option of storage and RAM. The device has 128GB of storage which is expandable with Micro-SD card up to 256GB. The RAM is a 4GB RAM. It is an LPDDR4x RAM unit. The RAM is not too much in terms of number but the handling capability is good enough.

Other – The device runs on the latest Android 10 and Realme’s own custom skin Realme UI. The Realme UI gives near to stock experience with not much bloatware. The 3-Card Slot gives much more versatility. The device has all the essential sensors too.

Camera

The cameras on Realme devices are always on good side as the company provide good camera output .

Front – The front panel has a single camera,16MP AI Selfie Camera. This is a wide-angle lens with f/2.0 Aperture. The camera is very good in output. In bright conditions, it gives an amazing image output.

Rear – The rear panel has an all-time Realme Quad-camera setup. There is a 48MP primary camera (f/1.8), one 8MP Ultra wide-angle lens (f/2.3), there is also a 2MP B&W Portrait lens (f/2.4) and one last 2MP Macro lens (f/2.4). The Ultra-wide angle lens has FOV 119°. The macro lens has a 4cm focus. These cameras have good performance in both indoor and outdoor conditions.

Videography – The videography is somehow not a major highlight in the device. The device supports only two options 1080P/30fps and 720P/30fps video recording.

Battery

The device is an amazing player in terms of battery. The Narzo 10 has a massive battery of 5000 mAh. This battery easily makes the device last whole day with heavy tasks. The phone has 18W fast charging support. The port is a Type-C port so no issues on that one.

Realme Narzo 10 Price

On moving to price, there is only one variant i.e. 4GB+128GB available. The device is tagged at Rs. 11,999 (~$158).

Final Impressions

The device is an amazing device for entry-level users. The Narzo 10 also has a few backslashes. There is the unavailability of 4K video recording and 1080p recording @60fps.Also The display could have been improved a little bit in terms of resolution.

The processor is amazing. Also, the design and price are great. So full 10 on 10 in those terms. The final note is, the device is recommended for new or not much heavy users, in that price segment it is definitely a good choice.
