Snapdragon 750G is the 5G-enabled successor to Snapdragon 730G
Qualcomm has added a new chipset to its 7 series of SoC, called Snapdragon 750G. This 5G-enabled chip has the global 5G connectivity support with smooth HDR gaming and on-device AI. Its AI engine can deliver up to 4.0 Trillion Operations Per Second (TOPS), 20% more than the Snapdragon 730G, for better graphics rendering and life-like imagery.
The on-device AI is used for the Qualcomm Aqstic Echo Cancellation and Noise Suppression (ECNS) technology that suppresses the unwanted background noise and enhances the call quality.
Snapdragon 750G is the upgraded and 5G variant of Snapdragon 730G
The Snapdragon 750G is equipped with the same X52 modem that we’ve seen in Snapdragon 765 SoC. This X52 modem has mmWave 5G support and touches download speeds of 3.7 Gbps. It also supports Qualcomm’s QuickCharge 4+.
Technically, this new chip has an octa-core Kryo 570 processor which clocks at 2.2 GHz and delivers 20% more performance than its predecessor Snapdragon 730G processor. Talking about camera capabilities, it can record 4K HDR10 video (with HLG) and 4K HDR with bokeh effect. Snapdragon 750G is paired with the Adreno 619 GPU that supports 120Hz display.

“As we continue to build out this relatively new tier of our mobile roadmap, we’re always looking for ways to support the growing needs of our OEM customers. Snapdragon 750G delivers a selection of premium mobile features to an even wider audience,” Kedar Kondap, Vice President of Product Management, Qualcomm Technologies, said in a statement late on Tuesday.
The newly launched chip is also pin-and software-compatible with Snapdragon 690 5G Mobile Platform that eases the step for the manufacturer to upgrade.
Devices based on Snapdragon 750G will be commercially available by the end of 2020 with a report that suggests that Xiaomi will be the first manufacturer to bring a phone with Snapdragon 750G chip.
