Poco has launched it’s first smartphone in India after becoming independent from its parent company Xiaomi. Poco X2 arrived nearly after 18 months since the Poco F1 launch which was the first phone of Poco brand under Xiaomi.
Poco X2 price starts at ₹15,999 ($225) and the highest variant costs ₹19,999 ($282) in India.
Although Poco has officially launched the phone on February 4 but to order the phone, one has to wait until February 11 for the first sale which will go live on Indian e-commerce site Flipkart.com.
However, it seems to be an exclusive launch in partnership with Flipkart.com as Poco X2 is not yet found on Poco’s own webstore or in any of the Xiaomi shopping portal in India.
Poco X2 comes in three colors viz. Matrix Purple, Phoenix Red, and Atlantis Blue.
Presently, there are three different combinations to choose from. 8GB+256GB / 6GB+128GB / 6GB+64GB
Poco has used cheeky promotion with the hashtag #SmoothAF to advertise Poco X2. SmoothAF technology is what Poco termed as RealityFlow display with 120Hz of extreme refresh rate which presumably produces more crispier images than the 60Hz or 90Hz screen.
The screen measures to 6.67 inch with resolution of 2400 x 1800 and aspect ratio of 20:9 and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 with side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
It features 20-megapixel + 2-megapixel Dual in-screen cameras in front and 64-megapixel quad camera in rear equipped with Sony IMX686 sensor which can record 4K videos.
The device is powered by Snapdragon 730G processor which supports dual 4G connectivity and it is packed with 4500 mAh high capacity battery and comes with 27W fast charging support through USB type-C charging port.
Editor’s Pick: Poco X2 with 120Hz refresh rate screen to be launched in India
For seamless music experience, availability of 3.5mm audio port has been provided which Poco and Xiaomi in particular does not want to ditch as of now.
Poco X2 makes the gaming experience smooth and realistic with its LiquidCool technology which we had already seen earlier in Poco F1.
Unlike Poco F1, Poco X2 has Infrared (IR) remote.
The smartphone runs on Android 10 with MiUI 11 on top of it.
With all the specifications in mind, we got into the conclusion that Poco X2 is almost similiar to Redmi K30. It can be assumed that K30 is disguised as Poco X2 for Indian users and for the rest of the market, Xiaomi will sell Redmi K30 instead of selling Poco X2.
