The Lenovo-backed Motorola has today unveiled a new handset – Moto G9 as the successor of Moto G8, which was launched in March this year. The all-new Moto G9 is fairly priced to its specifications, and will be competing against Samsung’s Galaxy M21, Redmi Note 9 and Realme 6i in the upper mid-range segment. Here’s everything you need to know;
Morotola Moto G9 Specifications
The new handset sports a 6.5″ HD+ display with 720 × 1600p resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. It’s got a plastic rear body, a teardrop notch style and retains the water-repellent coating. Weirdly, the display resolution is limited to just 720p, at the times where its competitors are going beyond 1080p.
Well, it at least bumped the processor to Snapdragon 662 SoC, a new CPU made on 11nm process coming with Adreno 610 GPU. All the right cores if this CPU are of Kyro 260, clocking at 2.0GHz. It has a single RAM variant as 4GB LPDDR4 paired with 64GB onboard storage. There’s a microSD slot to expand the storage upto 512GB.
Regarding cameras, it has a triple rear setup as a 48-megapixel (f/1.7) lens as the primary sensor, followed by a pair of the 2-megapixel lens of f/2.4 aperture as macro and depth sensors. While the primary sensor follows the Quad Pixel technology, this entire set-up supports HDR, Auto smile capture, Manual Mode,
RAW photo output and Face beauty.
At last, it has a decent 5000mAh battery with 20W fast charging support, which is claimed by Motorola to stay alive for two days. With a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, it has connectivities like Bluetooth 5, WiFi, GPS, USB 2.0 Type-C and NFC.
Pricing and Availability
The Moto G9 is available in two color variants as Sapphire Blue and Forest Green and is priced at Rs.11,499 ($155) for the sole variant of 4GB + 64GB. The first sale is going to take place on August 31st, via Flipkart at noon. It’s now launched for the Indian market only, and the global availability is yet to be revealed.
