Xiaomi has finally launched the long-awaited Mi 10 5G smartphone in India. The phone was slated to release in March this year but due to the ongoing pandemic and lockdown in India and worldwide, Xiaomi had to postpone the launch. Now the company has finally launched the Mi 10 5G and started taking pre-orders.
According to a report, Xiaomi will be selling the phone through Amazon and its own website, Mi.com. The key feature of this device is its 108-megapixel camera and Xiaomi has been bragging about the 108MP camera in its device for a long time.

Xiaomi’s Mi 10 series phones include Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro which was first launched in China back in February 2020. However, the phone was first said to get a global launch on the MWC event
which got canceled considering the risk of spread of COVID-19 virus.After the imposition of lockdown around the world, the launch event for Xiaomi phones was postponed to indefinitely that forced Xiaomi to setback their launches for India too.

Display
Xiaomi Mi 10 comes with a brand new curved display. It has a 6.67-inches FHD+ AMOLED display with the support of 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate as well. The display has a peak brightness of 1120 nits and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
The huge panel is capable to split up a maximum resolution of 2340 x 1080 with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and ~386 ppi density. It also support features like HDR10+ for a better multimedia experience. Also, it comes with a 4096-level brightness adjustment feature as like the OnePlus 8 series.
Processor
Mi 10 is powered by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, which has the in-built 5G support. The processor is octa-core and in the configurations as 1x Kryo 585 (ARM Cortex-A77-based) @ 2.84GHz, 3x Kryo 585 (ARM Cortex-A77-based) @ 2.4GHz, and 4x Kryo 385 (ARM Cortex A55-based) @ 1.8GHz. The processor is paired with Adreno 650 GPU for the improved graphic experience.
Storage and RAM
Mi 10 comes with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM which is paired with 128GB or 256GB of latest UFS 3.0 storage onboard. However, there is no option to expand the storage via a card slot.

Other features
The Mi 10 has some additional features like the liquid cooling plate, Wi-Fi 6, vapor chamber, dual stereo speakers, and multiple graphene sheets which is capable enough to keep the temperature of the phone in control. It also supports NavIC, the indigenously developed satellite navigation system of India.
UI and Software
Xiaomi’s Mi 10 runs on Android 10 with MIUI 11 on top of it, however, a user can can update to MIUI 12 soon as the company release it.
Also, Xiaomi has been claiming that their Mi 10 series flagship phones will be among the “Tier 1 Android device”. For this, they have promised that they will be replacing all of the Mi-branded apps and bloats for Google apps out of the device.
Camera
The camera is one of the major factors to be known in Xiaomi devices. On the back, there’s a quad-camera setup of 108-megapixel main camera sensor with OIS support, a 13-megapixel Ultrawide camera sensor with 123-degree FOV, a 2-megapixel depth, and 2-megapixel Macro camera lens. This camera setup can record videos of 8K @30fps, 4320p@30fps, 2160p@30/60fps, and 1080p@30/60fps.
On the front, there’s a 20-megapixel camera with an aperture of f/2.0. This selfie shooter can record 1080p videos @30fps.
Battery and Charging
This device draws its power from a large 4,780 mAh battery pack that supports 30W fast charging and 30W wireless fast charging as well.
Also, you will get the support of 10W reverse wireless charging.
Mi 10 Price in India
Mi 10 has seen a spike in the price as the government of India has recently revised the GST rate in the country due to which the company has to increase the price of the entire product range that it sells in the country.
For now, Mi 10 will be retail at:
- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage – ₹49,999 (~$660)
- 8GB RAM + 256GB storage – ₹54,999 (~$730)
Mi 10 will be available in two colors – Coral Green and Twilight Grey.
