Samsung has today announced the third device in its Fold lineup, which was started last year. The new Galaxy Z Fold 2 comes with a bigger screen, latest chipset and improved design for avoiding the mistakes from earlier Fold handsets. Samsung has announced this new offering Galaxy Unpacked 2020 virtual event earlier this year, and now welcomed the physical handset. Here’s everything about it;

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Specifications
It comes with a 7.6″ AMOLED display with 1768 x 2208p resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+. When folded, this becomes a 6.23″ display with an 816 x 2260p resolution in 25:9 aspect ratio. Running on One UI based on Android 10, it has a Snapdragon’s 865+ chipset clocking at 3.09GHz at peak speeds.
With Adreno 650 GPU, it has 12GB LPDDR5 RAM with UFS 3.1 256GB onboard storage. It has a triple rear camera setup as 12-megapixel (f/1.8) as the primary sensor, a 12-megapixel (f/2.4) as a telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and a 12-megapixel (f/2.2) lens for ultra-wide shots covering 123° area. It’s capable of recording 4K videos at 60fps!
Upfront, the two cameras set posses same capabilities since one’s outside and one’s inside. The 10-megapixel lens with f/2.2 aperture is an ultra-wide lens for selfies, both in and out. It has no audio jack but a Bluetooth 5, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC and a USB 3.1 Type-C port.
With a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, it has the Samsung DeX feature to make it work like a desktop computer. Finally, it comes with a 4500mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. This becomes 11W in wireless charging and 4.5W in reverse wireless charging. The display is protected with UTG, sweepers for cleaning the display with elastic fibres and a CAM mechanism to let users open from any side.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Price and Availability
With Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze as color variants, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is priced at $1,999. It’s available for sale in about 40 markets with pre-orders starting today. There’s even a separate Thom Browne Edition, which comes as a pack of Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Buds Live, Galaxy Watch 3, and a few customized accessories with Thom Browne’s signature on them.
