As per the latest reports from Sensor Tower, mobile games installs have increased by 28% in the last quarter of 2020. This rapid growth is assumed to be fuelled by the pandemic lockdown. Also, an online multiplayer game called Among Us has topped the charts of the most downloaded game on both the App stores.

It has so viral that, it was installed over 85 million times in the last quarter alone, making it the most installed game on both Apple’s Appstore and Google’s Playstore. Among is a typical tactical game where a bunch have to spot and skill the imposter roaming among them as normal. People vote to direct others in doing so, which becomes more fun when played with friends.
Other games like Scribble Rider from Voodoo and My Talking Tom Friends by Outfit 7 Limited occupied the next two places respectively. Further, Garena Free Fire is the only battle royale game listed in top of mobile games of highest downloads. Surprisingly, PUBG Mobile has dropped seven places to remain in the top 10 at least.
This could be related to the direct effect triggered by the Indian government, which had banned PUBG Mobile and tens of other apps over security reasons. The majority of the increased games installs came from Playstore, which has seen 36.8% growth, whereas the Appstore’s growth was slightly declined by 4.2% in the same Q3 period.
